Taiwan has announced a plan to provide every citizen with a ₹30,000 cash payment next year, linking the proposed payout to the economic gains generated during the island’s rapid artificial intelligence and technology expansion.
President Lai Ching-te announced the proposed Taiwan ₹30,000 cash payment after receiving a report on the government’s 2027 budget at the Presidential Office, according to reports cited by Taiwan’s United Daily News and China Times.
The proposal is being described as an “AI bonus”, with the government seeking to share part of the benefits of the country’s strong economic performance with citizens.
