The last 14 km from Batal to the lake is a rough, unpaved road, and the lake is a 15–20 minute walk from the parking area.

From Kaza: Chandratal is approximately 80 km from Kaza. The route involves traversing Kunzum Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass that connects the Spiti Valley to the Lahaul Valley. The road conditions can be challenging, so it’s advisable to travel with experienced drivers.
