The attack took place in Hanamkonda town in the greater Warangal area of Telangana. Local reports identify the victim as a B.Sc. nursing student from Jafargadh in Jangaon district, who was attacked while in Hanamkonda. Police from Kazipet/Warangal are handling the case. 

How it happened

According to initial police reports and local media, three unidentified youths approached the student and sprayed a chemical on her. The student suffered burns on her body and was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements to trace the attackers. No official motive has been confirmed yet.

The injured student, named in local reports as Sunanda (from Jafargadh, Jangaon district)  received treatment for superficial burns and is reported to be stable. Police said they are examining CCTV and questioning people in the area; no arrests were reported in initial briefings.
