Vivo has officially announced the India launch date of its upcoming V-series smartphone. The Vivo V80 is scheduled to arrive in the country on October 6, 2026, bringing a new design, updated software and several camera-focused features.
The upcoming smartphone will also be the first Vivo V-series model in India to come with OriginOS 7 pre-installed. Vivo is positioning the device around photography and video creation, with several AI-powered tools expected to be part of the experience.
Vivo V80 Gets 7,200mAh Battery
One of the major hardware details confirmed by Vivo is the phone’s 7,200mAh battery. This represents an increase over the 6,500mAh battery found on the previous-generation V70.
The larger battery could be particularly useful for users who frequently record videos, use social media apps or spend extended periods on their smartphones.
Camera and Video Features
Vivo has confirmed support for 4K Cinematic Video and 4K 60fps video recording on the upcoming smartphone. The company is also highlighting more than 30 AI-based creative features.
Among these features is AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed around festive photography and portrait creation ahead of the Diwali season.
Vivo V80 Design Gets a New Look
The new smartphone will feature a redesigned camera plateau. Official teasers show two vertically arranged camera rings accompanied by another smaller sensor.
The design of the Vivo V80 is noticeably different from the squircle-style camera module seen on the V70. Vivo has also teased the device in orange and sky-blue finishes, with Zeiss branding visible on the camera setup.
Chipset and Specifications Still Unconfirmed
While Vivo has confirmed several features, important specifications such as the processor, RAM configuration, display and complete camera setup have not yet been officially announced.
Earlier certification and benchmark-related reports have pointed towards a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and at least 8GB of RAM. However, these details should be treated as unconfirmed until Vivo provides official specifications.
Expected Price and Availablity
Vivo has not yet revealed the official Indian price of the V80. Reports have suggested that the phone could be positioned above the Rs 55,000 segment.
