Samsung has started expanding its latest software experience to more Galaxy devices, bringing new artificial intelligence tools, privacy features and improvements to everyday smartphone functions. The Samsung One UI 9 update is based on Android 17 and initially focuses on the Galaxy S26 series after debuting on Samsung’s latest foldable devices.
One UI 9 Rollout Begins
Samsung officially announced the expansion of Samsung One UI 9 on September 16, 2026. The rollout began with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, while additional compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets are expected to receive the software in phases.
The company had previously introduced One UI 9 with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. This makes the latest software update an important step in Samsung’s broader Galaxy ecosystem.
My Fan Cam Brings Smarter Video Tracking
One of the notable additions is My FanCam. The feature can automatically track a selected person in a recorded video and keep that person centred as they move through the frame.
This could make it easier to create social-ready videos without manually adjusting the framing after recording. Samsung says the feature uses AI to intelligently reframe the footage.
More Personal Now Brief Experience
Samsung is also expanding Now Brief with Generative and Editable Cards. Users can customise the information displayed in their daily summaries, with options covering areas such as health, weather and video.
The goal is to make the daily briefing more relevant to individual users instead of showing the same information to everyone.
New Privacy and Security Features
Security is another major area of the update. One UI 9 introduces Security Brief, which can surface information about potential issues such as malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions.
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts to access permissions in the background. Samsung has also expanded Scam Detection to additional markets, including India.
Now Nudge and Other Galaxy AI Improvements
One UI 9 adds Now Nudge, which can provide context-aware suggestions based on what users are doing. For example, when conversations contain relevant information, the feature can suggest useful actions without requiring users to leave the current activity.
Samsung has also improved Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder. Interpreter gains a Thread View for translated conversations, while Voice Recorder can present summaries in a more structured format.
Warranty and Device Care From Settings
Another practical addition is Warranty and Care. Samsung is bringing device support options directly into Settings, allowing users to check warranty information, run diagnostics, view repair estimates and manage supported Samsung Care+ services where available.
Which Galaxy Devices Will Get One UI 9?
Samsung is rolling out One UI 9 in phases, so availability depends on the device, market and software schedule. Samsung’s published information indicates that features such as Privacy Alerts are supported across a range of newer Galaxy S, Z and Tab devices, including selected S25, S24, S23, Z Fold and Z Flip models.
The complete update schedule can vary by country and device. Users should therefore check Samsung’s official software-update information for their specific Galaxy model rather than assuming that every feature will arrive at the same time.
