Listen to this article

A major terror plan has been exposed after the Red Fort car blast in Delhi. DNA tests confirmed Dr Umar Un Nabi as the man behind the explosion. The group, linked to a handler in Turkiye, had planned several car bombings and gun attacks in Delhi and Ayodhya later this month.

Turkiye-based network planned multiple attacks

The terror plan was led by a Turkiye-based handler known as “Ukasa.” Dr Umar and his team arranged three cars — an i20, a red Ford Ecosport, and a Brezza — to carry out blasts. While the i20 exploded near Red Fort, the Ecosport was found in Faridabad, and the Brezza is still missing. The bombs were believed to contain ammonium nitrate and RDX. Home Minister Amit Shah directed the NIA to complete the probe quickly and asked FSL officials to finish DNA testing soon. High-level review meetings were held with Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, NIA DG Sadanand Vasant Date, and J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, who joined virtually. Officials presented detailed reports on the blast and investigation progress.
